about midterm

Last week was a really busy week, also this week as well.

I always forget that I still have a blog assignment although sometimes I think it is not a homework but a kind of communication with TA and other classmates.

At first I feel really grateful to our dear TA's help of last blog.

In fact I really don't know what to write down this time.

About our midterm?

That was a terrible memory because at that day it was a big big snow day.

I felt cold when I was writing my midterm test and the classroom of MP103 was really not a good place to have the test.

The table is too small I fee crowded.

I really want to have a real table next time.

I am waiting for my midterm mark and the answer of the test,I think I will have lots of questions to ask when I get my test paper back.

The last question, I even couldn't remember the meaning of the words "converse" and "contrapositive"...

However it is too late to feel upset now...

Oh there is one more thing, our group got 85.53% in our first assignment!

Although it is not a "that high" grade, I still feel satisfied!

My second week

I almost forgot to write my blog last week, although I have lots of questions because of our assignment.

It was a complicated assignment that we spend half of our day dealing with those confusing problems.

Fortunately we solved all the problems at the end.

I still want to know if the symbol "". Is that mean "there exists at least" or there is no "at least"? It is a little confusing to me.

I still have a question left, it was from last week's tutorial handout.

It's the g of question 1 from the handout.

"Some courses have the same prerequisites."

If I rewrite this symbolically as
"∃ y1,y2 ∈ C∃ x ∈ C, P(x,y1)  ∧ P(x,y2)"

Is that also OK?

If I meet a question like this in the future test, I am afraid theta I will rewrite the question as above.

Just relax

Actually I begin to think that CSC165 is a lovely course now.

Before taking this course, some of my friends told me that this course is quite difficult.

"Half of the students failed in this course last term!"

They said.

I have to say that the universal claim and the existential claim are sometimes confusing, especially when their symbols "∀" and "∃" appear.

I am not good at logical thinking at all and as a student uses English as the second language, it is much harder for me to understand and analyze a question.

During lectures our professor told us that this course is for us to write code more clearly, logical thinking is related to computer science closely.

It is true because I always think that it's hard for me to write a python code smoothly.I hope after taking this course. It may help.

The example of salaries during lecture is easy to understand, although the female worker "Betty" only earns 500.

It is really a sad story!

Today's quiz is easier than I thought before—At least we didn't need to draw a Venn diagram and there is only one statement in the paper.

I said "what" when I first saw our question.

Before I was really worried about drawing a Venn diagram, d of Question 2 in our tutorial handout "There is one of the three python programs that fails all three test suites", I don't know how to draw a diagram at the beginning.

"How to deal with that "fails all three test suites"?"I asked my partner and she also thought it is impossible to draw.

Thank God we have a really good TA,the tricky question is not tricky any more.

I have already known how to deal with this kind of problems.

If "There is one of the three python programs that fails all three test suites" is true, just like the first photo above.

Also the false statement of the sentence of "There is one of the three python programs that fails all three test suites" is "There is none of the three python programs that fails all three test suites", I will remember this forever in my mind.

Our first week's lesson and quiz are not that difficult, but I think we will meet lots of challenging in the future.

I must say the most important thing for me to study this course well is to study English harder and harder—At least I need to tell the meaning of "x in L2 for x in L1", I spent lots of time thinking about its meaning during lecture.

However, I am still looking forward to learn more in this course.

By the way, our TA is cute!★~★
